Anterior synechiae occur in the angle during chronic or acute inflammation. Inflammation of the choroid and may extend to the nearby retina and/or vitreous posterior synechiae (adhesions or bands of scar tissue). Adhesions between posterior iris and the anterior lens surface.
This occurs when inflammatory adhesions develop between the lens capsule and iris margin, causing irregularity of the pupil shape.
